Empty

Here’s my take on this week’s writing prompt from Sammi Cox. Our theme today was “emptiness”, a subject that inspired me to attempt both the prose and poetry challenge (the latter is my first ever haiku, so be nice!).

Prose Challenge

We’re met by static… not the kind of static with sound and colour, but a static so deadly that it seems icy. I close my eyes, but nothing changes; there’s no light, and there’s no life, either… not anymore.

Poetry Challengesammi

Shutting out the light,
And inviting in the cold,
We close our eyes tight.

    Hey Emily,

Very much enjoyed your take on the Challenge. The sense of coldness, a vision of an isolated icy world lingers.

But not static anymore eh Emily?

Hoping Bank Holiday brings a mile of smiles.

    Namaste 🙂
